About Wind Sprite, Zephyr

My inspiration are earths’ elements; fire, water, wind and erosion abstracted. The esthetic of earths landforms, rock formations, clouds and how the weather and time has altered our environment are key elements. Even my metal stands have weathered patina from rain and snow. The juxtaposition of my shinny vibrant stainless steel and plexiglass insets on a patinaed matte metal stand is a striking contrast. I love creating kinetic mosaic sculpture using plexiglass that is cut to shape and installed in conjunction with the stainless metal forms. The undulating forms are interesting from any angle all designed effortlessly to spin in the wind. Even when the landscape becomes grey and subdued my sculptures become bright notes of sparking reflections often with beautiful enamel colors enhancing the forms.
