About Alissa Neglia

Alissa Neglia explores the traditional vessel through her basket-like sculptures. Often using found objects, like washers and bolts, the artist explores the idea of magnifying the details of the world. She explores the patterns of spider webs and lace through this work. Neglia says, “This series is my investigation into the effects of light and shadow on the landscape. On site, the lace screens lightly veil their backdrop.” Alissa Neglia works as a painter and sculptor, and received her BFA from Syracuse University.
