About the Artist
“I create because I need to. I’m a recovering alcoholic, I know despair, pain, hopelessness, I’ve prayed for death and actively sought it. I wouldn’t be alive today without my artistic practice. In the darkest of times it was my lifeline, the one thing that kept me from complete oblivion. Today, in recovery, it has provided me with an indescribable feeling of connection and serenity. It’s an outlet and an act of self love, but most importantly it’s a message that can be spread to anyone else who is struggling to find a spark of light in their lives. I create art because I need to share what I’ve found with the world.”
David selected the Squirrel for his mural at Fiddler’s Green.
