About PTTSAAES
“PTTSAAES” stands for “Point Traveling Through Space At An Erratic Speed.”
“For most of my life I have been aware/of the 20th Century concepts of relativity/and quantum theories and the particle analysis mathematics used by atomic/ physicists . . . I always incorporate real or implied motion in my work.” Bob Mangold
Originally commissioned in 1999 as part of a rotating outdoor exhibition entitled Elemental Energy, PTTSAAES has traveled through the metro Denver area, and will now join other outdoor public art in CityCenter Englewood as part of MOA’s permanent collection. The sculpture places a finishing touch on the thoroughfare that runs from the front door of the Englewood Civic Center and the MOA Sculpture Garden east to Broadway, and anchors a newly revitalized neighborhood offering residents and visitors a shared environment that includes attractive new living and retail space, the Englewood Civic Center and Public Library, access to light rail transportation and a public amphitheater.
