Artist Statement
In a world that moves at hyper speed, Café to Nowhere offers respite. We provide a digital space to relax, get cozy, and reflect on life’s simple pleasures. Playing in the space between static and dynamic environments, we strive to ground the viewer in our ecosystem through the use of illustration, animation, and immersive audio. Café to Nowhere is narration for the mind, body, and soul.
Biography
Café to Nowhere is a collaboration between Thomas Walsh of GiveMeMas Studio and Chris Pilipiszn of Extra ChrisP Idea Labz.
Thomas is an illustrator, animator, and fine artist based out of Boulder, CO. Growing up, Thomas got his start drawing comics and now relies on those years-old neural connections to storyboard narratives and bring them to life through his sketch style artwork. Father to a young son, Thomas believes fully in art’s value to humanity and its ability to inspire.
Chris is a musician, sound designer, and engineer living in Boulder, CO. He fell in love with audio by digging through his dad’s record collection and working as a board operator at his high school radio station. He likes making noise, but prefers to listen.
Café to Nowhere presents "For to Pedal". "For to Pedal" is a short, animated narrative about an overnight backpacking trip. The two person team at Café to Nowhere believes in slowing down and appreciating life's simple pleasures, and, as two cyclists, they can't think of a better way than this.
