About Chloe
In progress and intermingled with Alice’s adventure story is a Madden and Leitner family Pet Memorial Walk. The walk begins with “Chloe,” a memorial to Roger Leitner and MOA founder Cynthia Madden Leitner’s beloved standard poodle. Roger sculpted “Chloe” from Yule marble mined in Marble, Colorado close to where Roger spent many summers carving with Chloe by his side. Chloe accompanied him on his sculpture installations and was a constant studio companion.
Leitner’s masterwork: the 42 foot in diameter “Chartres Labyrinth” is installed at the Palazzo Verdi building directly east of Marjorie Park. Roger was an integral part of MOA throughout a near 40 year history. He lent his expertise to innumerable sculpture installations and was invaluable in the early creation of the Museum of Outdoor Arts.
Walk to the north along the path and you will encounter, “Samson,” faithful Yorkshire terrier pet to John and Marjorie Madden. “Samson” was sculpted and cast in bronze by Roger Leitner’s brother, artist, Jon Leitner.
