About Andy Miller

Artist Andy Miller explores an alternative perspective on figurative sculpture with his Bathroom People. He depicts a male and female figure based on the universal signage for public restrooms. Miller combines “the chrome and steel creating generic human forms through symbols we see every day in the commercial world. The simplified figures are a post-modern way of representing ourselves. The polka dot-like spheres, made with chrome, anchor the figures in the connection we all have with the delicate balance required to live and breathe.” This monumental two-part work is a sculptural interpretation of American pop culture, and reveals Miller’s concern with using both traditional and unconventional materials. Andy Miller received his BFA with an emphasis in sculpture from the University of Colorado at Denver.
