Fall 2016 Artist in Residence

MOA welcomed Dmitri Obergfell as our Fall 2016 Artist in Residence.

Dmitri Obergfell is an artist whose work explores currents that flow through historical, political and philosophical narratives. Appropriating symbols and objects across history and cultural backgrounds, his works reconstitute their meaning to describe contemporary ideological constructs.

Obergfell created What Happens on Earth Stays on Earth for MOA’s “Sculpture on the Green” exhibition, which featured the work of four Colorado artists. Artworks were placed around Fiddler’s Green Circle and remained on exhibit from May 2017 through April 2018. The exhibition was assembled in collaboration with John Madden Company and MOA’s Design and Build Public Art Education Program.
