About Bonytail Mural
Marissa “Revery” Napoletano is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work can be seen across the country. After graduating from the University of Hartford with a BFA, she moved on to study in Italy, an experience that continues to inform her artistic approach. Since then, her work has spanned everything from published illustrations to large scale murals, featuring imagery of nature and humanity. Each painting aims to address themes through an intersection between realism and fantasy.
“This mural was an opportunity to shed light on one of the most critically endangered animals in Colorado, the bonytail. I wanted to take this little fish and present its beauty and importance on a larger platform. With hints of gold and unified movement, I hope to represent how precious they are, and explore the relationship we have to the creatures around us.”
