About Ephemeral Circle
MOA’s 2020 Deisgn and Build Artist Fellow, AJ Davis, created this mural at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on an archway entrance to the venue.
AJ Davis says “My mural ‘Ephemeral Circle’ serves as an extension to Reven’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’ installation. It highlights the colors of Reven’s mosaic composition while complimenting the unique architecture of the VIP entrance to Fiddler’s. This work in particular focuses on the more abstract and graphic elements of my work. Geometric sections of color weave in and out of saturation and gradient resulting in an architectural and ethereal arrangement of shape and color. There is an eclipsing crescent centered in the composition cradled by a gradient ring of the colors used throughout the painting. This particular crescent is unique for me as it strayed from my usual coloration and it utilizes two of the same sized circles to create its shape rather than two different sized circles which is my primarily technique. This work is one of many collaborative mural initiatives being led by the Museum of Outdoor Art and AJ Davis.”
