Story of "The Creative Space" In celebration of our "Rauschenberg: Reflections and Ruminations" exhibition (on view at our indoor galleries February 24 - June 13, 2020), this display pays homage to world renown artist, Robert Rauschenberg (1925 - 2008). It features a "living painting” and vintage found objects, celebrating the creative space, both physically and spiritually. Found objects of inspiration include items that appear in many of Rauschenberg's works, including bicycle wheels, chicken imagery and umbrellas. Many art supplies and tools that may have been in his studio are also seen, including silk screens, printing tools, pastels, paints, saws and well worn paint brushes.
