Join MOA as we present an artist discussion with sculptor, Neil Goodman on November 7th, 6:30-8pm. Goodman will discuss his work and process in detail in this insightful discussion. The forum will be held in Hampden Hall, which is adjacent to MOA’s indoor gallery at the Englewood Civic Center. An artist reception at MOA will follow the discussion, where you can mingle with the artist in a casual setting to further discuss his work in his retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Outdoor Arts’ indoor gallery. Light refreshments will be provided. We will also have catalogues of the exhibition available. This is event is free and open to the public.

About the Exhibition
MOA will feature Chicago and California based sculptor, Neil Goodman. The exhibition is a retrospective of work spanning four decades. A catalogue will be available in October.
On September 15, 2018 MOA will debut Close Proximity: A Retrospective of Sculpture by Neil Goodman. The exhibition will open with a reception from 6 PM to 9 PM on Saturday, September 15 at MOA's indoor gallery on the Second Floor of the Englewood Civic Center at 1000 Englewood Parkway, Englewood, CO. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres, libations and live music. The opening reception is free and open to the public and the artist will be in attendance. The exhibition will be on display through November 17, 2018.
This exhibition will feature bronze sculpture spanning four decades of artist Neil Goodman's work. Goodman is widely known in the Chicago, IL and Gary, IN regions of the US and his work is featured in numerous museums, private, and public collections. As a founding member of the fine arts department at Indiana University Northwest, Goodman recently retired as Emeritus Professor of Fine Arts in 2017 after nearly 40 years of teaching. Presently, Goodman divides his time between studios in Chicago and the Central Coast of California.
Over the course of his career Goodman has had more than forty solo exhibitions of his sculpture throughout the country in both museums and galleries. He has lectured both nationally and internationally, and his work has been written about and reviewed in numerous catalogs and periodicals including Art Forum, Art in America, Art News, and Sculpture Magazine.
"This exhibition takes us back to our roots as a sculpture museum," said MOA President and Executive Director, Cynthia Madden Leitner. "The breadth of work that we will be presenting in this intimate exhibition will allow our patrons to have a deeper connection with both the artist and bronze as a material."
In addition to the indoor exhibition, MOA has partnered with the City of Greenwood Village to install three of Goodman's monumental scale fiberglass sculptures at Westlands Park in Greenwood Village. The outdoor works will be on view through August of 2019.
