About Chartres Labyrinth
Chartres Labyrinth is a recreation of a 13th century labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France.  Combining Colorado sandstone and peribonka granite, Roger Leitner created this work in Palazzo Verdi utilizing a laser cut stone process that enables a precision fit without grouting.  Walking in a singular path, visitors will make thirty-four turns before reaching the center.  Replicating the original 42' diameter at Chartres required 4,800 square feet-an extraordinary accomplishment for an indoor space.  After a career in construction management, Roger Leitner began designing in stone in 1997.  His intricate stonework is located in other buildings throughout Greenwood Plaza.
